History of the Club:

The Sandwich Club history is still yet under investigation.  In my recollection,  it goes back to Colorado circa 1994.  It was then introduced to me by Mike Friedrich, Sean Dunbar and Bruno Furrer.  They invented the game along with the help of close friends Stephan and Wylie.

When I first ate with those guys they smashed my sandwiches and told me that I need to modify them to prevent it from happening again.  At that point, the game was a little rough, but funny for sure.

Then, in 1997, a group of my friends went on a road trip in the Midwest.  On the first of many stops at McDonalds, we all decided to reinstate the club.  I think then is when the catch phase was instated and also on that trip the gentlemen's rules were created.

The club has since grown to over 50 members and has recently seen a membership boom since it's introduction to the hotel cafeteria where many of the members work.

Now, with the new website, the goal is to go international and to surpass the 1,000 member mark.

If you have any added or correctional information to this story, please email it to me.  Currently, Mike and Bruno have not contacted me via the site, if you see them, give 'em a high-five.  Please email me if you have any further info.  -  Kurt
